“Barch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melch ha-olam Asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vetzivanu liheyot or la-goyim ve-natan-lanu et Yeshua Meshicheinu Or ha-olam.””Blessed are You, O LORD, ruler of the universe, Who sanctifies us with His commandments and commanded us to be a light to the nations and who gave to us Yeshua our Messiah the Light of the world.”
“Create In Me A Clean Heart” seemed to be an appropriate song for Yom Kippur, this Day of Atonement. Thank You, Yeshua/Jesus, our Messiah, for shedding your blood and providing us Your Holy Spirit to justify us, to seal us, and disinfect the unholiness from our hearts. ❤
This year was the first time my husband and I formerly celebrated this holy holiday prescribed by Abba Father (G-d) in a Messianic Jewish congregation setting. To learn more about why those in covenant with Abba honor Him and His holy holidays as a natural Israelite or spiritual-grafted-in Israelite (Romans 9-11), read Leviticus 23:23-25 and Numbers 29:1-6. Also, in the newer testament or the back of the Bible, we can easily see the connections between the significance of the trumpet blasts, or blasts of the shofar (a ram’s horn used as a trumpet in ancient times) and the return of our Messiah Yeshua!
Last year in 2018 while still living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we practiced the tradition of throwing stones, or in our case seashells, into the sea to symbolize the casting away our past sins forevermore. The Jewish tradition to do so comes from the passage in Micah 7:18-20. To see more about that special event, which also included blasting away Hurricane Florence at the time, while divinely running into a man from New Jersey I led to the Lord the first time out at Myrtle Beach a year and a half prior, click on this YouTube video called “Shofar So Good”. I still can’t believe Abba orchestrated for me to run into this man the first and last time on the beaches of Myrtle Beach, in the same spot, but a year and a half apart! That was surely a G-d thing!!
This Yom Teruah, also known as Feast of Trumpets in English, or Rosh Hashanah, Head of the New Year, a Jewish phrase capturing this celebration, we attended and participated in a special service at the Messiah Jewish congregation we faithfully attend here in Texas. In addition to the delicious food, dancing, and shofar blasts, I was blessed to sing with our worship team and read the famous Scripture regarding Yeshua’s return and us being raised from the dead or changed in a twinkling of an eye!
I was overjoyed by this celebration service of the shofar blasting. This holy holiday has many layers, depths, and prophetic implications. To get a basic overview of this feast from a Messianic perspective, feel free to watch my brief video and footage of this event and my thoughts.
Here is the itinerary of our service reflecting the songs and Scripture read. I encourage you to download this picture for yourself to read the following passages.
Overall, I had a blast celebrating this soon to be fulfilled holiday when Yeshua our Messiah returns to rule and reign at the last blast of the shofar!
Shana Tova! (Good Year)
(Recorded Sep 17 – 19, 2019) In just 3 hours, Imelda went from an invest to a tropical storm dropping approximately 40 inches of rain in the Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Texas region. Carrie and Jerry share with you a day in the life of living and working on yachts during this harrowing tropical storm. In this lengthy video covering three days, you will find some concerning moments mingled with Christian principles as well as comical relief.
On August 14th, I penned about a dream I had of a storm coming. Then 10 days ago I blogged about a storm is brewing…Even so, I did not expect Tropical Storm Imelda would actually manifest let alone drop 40 plus inches of rain despite the prophetic warnings. I suppose somethings you hope will not unfold.
Imelda went from being just an invest with only a 20% chance of developing into a cyclone to a tropical storm in 3 hours! Talk about “rapid intensification”! The first two days of the three day ordeal was no big deal other than lots of rain, but after ongoing rain and then thinking she moved to the east, Imelda released her wrath on Day 3 causing catastrophic flooding in the Houston, Galveston, and Beaumont metropolitan areas. I am in the process of uploading a video capturing our experience. For now, I wanted to publicly report we are fine. Afterall, our “home” floats! But many have not been so blessed. Tonight, as you rest in your dry homes, pray for those with with wet homes and cheeks.
I also found it interesting this verse of Isaiah 43:2 is 234 backwards, the number I have consistently seen since moving to Texas. A prophetic YouTube subscriber emailed me this same verse a few weeks ago on August 7th pointing out the 234 in this ominous verse. The numbers…the dream…the verse…the timing of the dream and emailed verse and then the storm. The Lord speaks in mysterious ways…if only we’d pay attention.
This photo captures when we lived in Myrtle Beach preparing for Hurricane Irma in 2017. God told me a few weeks in advance of her arrival that a storm was coming, to get ready, and that we didn’t need to evacuate, but it would be intense. He said on 9/9 the storm would shift, which on 9/9 is when it took the western track up Florida’s Gulf Coast, and that even Charleston would be affected. Turns out Charleston, being on the northeast side of that ernormous hurricane was slammed with fires, tornados, and flooding. I told the Lord Jerry is never going to believe me, but He said, “I’ll take care of Jerry.” So about an hour later I summoned the courage to tell Jerry (considering I would need his cooperation to prepare) and he somberly replied, “I know, the Lord told me about an hour ago.” He’s a good, good Abba.
Consequently, we started preparing by creating a hurricane bin full of supplies and boarding up our windows. We warned our neighbors and management to not listen to weather reports but to board up the front office full of glass and the indoor pool full of glass. Meanwhile, the local weather kept saying we won’t be affected. At first, people thought we were crazy like Noah building the ark. But a few neighbors did also. Unfortunately, management listened to the weatherman and consequently most of the indoor pool’s large glass windows were blown in and shattered as well as the front office windows and glass above leaked heavily flooding the office for failure to board up. They were scrambling during the storm to board up from the inside. A small suspected tornado passed through picking up pool furniture slamming it into things, a huge wooden welcoming sign completely blew away never to be seen again, brick veneer pulled away from the building’s structure, etc. I also warned Charleston on social media prior to the storm and was called a false prophet, but I guess they realized otherwise when the city was affected.
After all that, the management/board of directors heeded my voice and eventually made me President until I called board members out on their fiscal corruption, then the deceitful campaigned to silence me and terminate me from the BOD. Funny thing is about 6 months in advance, the Lord also told me I would be President of that Board and it would be a test. Without me having to campaign or do any striving in of myself, the former President, who was resigning due to selling his condo, sent out a mass email to all the homeowners and the current Board campaigning for me to be his replacement due to my property management experience. So that is how I got to be President of the Board. The test was if I wanted the power/authority more than integrity…Would I comply to the corruption of the good ole boys or would I stand up for truth? Would I endure “the storm”..the backlash for what was right or love the title more? It was not fun being hated, but it was necessary. Even so, God used it all for me to not just fix up my condo, but we upgraded much needed areas around the entire resort as a board member. Months later, when Abba said, “List it NOW.”, we got a contract 10 days later and nearly doubled our money.
Moral of all this is :Always listen to God and refuse to care what mankind says.
If it doesn’t directly impact them, many people will not remember to pray for others, but just continue on in their busy lives. As #Hurricane #Dorian continues to threaten our coastlands, our people, our brothers and sisters in Messiah, may we love Abba and others, by interceding with our prayers, resources, and time as His Spirit of Holiness prompts.
I hope you had a lovely Shabbat! Today I got to sing a solo with my guitar at congregation. I was nervous as it was the first time for this congregation. Evidently, the Ruach (Spirit) moved, people were crying and healed too. Also, another singer told me the Lord was having her tell me the meaning of my name is significant, all of which is confirmation of a previous post I wrote about my name meaning “song of joy” and being like a musical prophets of sorts. Then while sitting in service the Ruach reminded me of an event that happened YEARS ago. Sometime in 2010 (?), I was at a revival evening service in a small church in Lansdowne, Maryland that I had never been to. A guest speaker / prophet was speaking. He was passionate and loud. I was just a baby in gifts of the Spirit back then, was starting over in life, and hungry for God. Suddenly, in the midst of the service, the prophet abruptly called me out of the crowd saying something about God has a call on my life that the devil has tried numerous times to thwart it even by trying to kill me, but God had and still has me covered. Little did he know all the hellish things I overcame like being suffocated by my ex, or my ex pointing a shot gun at me, or my car being set on fire, or houses and my job being shot up! So yes, you could say the devil tried numerous times, BUT what the devil meant for harm, God meant for good. Here I am today, healed from those nightmares, allowing Abba to use my voice to sing prophetic lullabies of love to those going through a hell of their own. I had forgotten all about that prophet and intentionally left the past in the past, but it was as if Abba wanted me to know “For such a time as this.” 🎶💗🙌
Many peculiar things manifested this past week in Carrie’s life. From a confirming prophetic word to a freak storm and the explosion at Exxon’s refinery plant, could Abba be trying to communicate something? Could He be burning up things in Carrie’s life having her let go of somethings so He can have her focus on more important matters or take her into new realms in and with Him?
Ironically enough, a section of this week’s Torah portion hints at “kashering by fire” or being purified by fire before entering G-d’s presence or coming into the camp (Numbers 19, Numbers 31, 1 Corinthians 3). Our vessels need to be purified and that is what Abba seems to be doing in His people. Notice the passage of 1st Kings 18 prophecized over Carrie in worship services recently not only confirms what Abba has been prompting Carrie to do ( to “release” or call out false prophets…as well as perhaps “release” more beloved things to the L-rd), but moreover, speaks to being purified or consumed by G-d’s holy fire. When true prophets are purified by His Spirit, G-d grants them the authority to call down fire or put another way, change the atmosphere for G-d’s Spirit of Holiness is about transformation.
Leading others, teaching others, and or operating in true prophetic realms, is a heavy responsibility…Those who dare to do so should expect to be purified by Abba’s fire as He tosses things overboard through His holy wind.
Last night, #Abba awoke me saying, “Sing the Havdalah…from here on out.” I wasn’t even sure what that was so I googled it. Then today, I learned this song sung as a #Havdalah blessing, which is the closing of Shabbat ceremony done in your home Saturday evening, is directly connected to what is sung during Feast of Tabernacles and is about Yeshua as the well and song of our #salvation. Our temporary “tabernacle” (our sailboat) is legally named “sailvation”. #Yeshua / Jesus quoted Isaiah 12 when He said, “Anyone who is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” (John 7:37-38)…when speaking of salvation. He made this bold announcement during the water libation ceremony during the Feast of Tabernacles (#Sukkot) see John 7:2,37. How fascinating considering the Spirit has used the Feast of Tabernacles all throughout this peculiar “wilderness journey”He has called us on. Consequently, I investigated this song. Here is the #song…
